The Dacotah Prairie Museum is located in historic downtown Aberdeen. The Museum’s red brick façade was renovated to restore the beauty of the building, which was built in 1888-1889. See About Us for more details. |

Parking All parking around the building is free. We recommend parking in the lot just north of the building. Two hour parking is also available on Main Street and the surrounding side streets. |

Scheduling a TourGuided: Guided tours are available year-round by appointment. After hour tours may be arranged if enough prior notice is given. If interested, contact the Museum by phone (605.626.7117) or e-mail (dacotahprairiemuseum@gmail.com). Please note the name of your group, the date and time requested, the number of guests in your party, any special needs, and a contact name and number. Self-Guided: Walk-in visitors are always welcome during regular Museum hours. An informational “Self-Guided Tour” pamphlet is available near the front desk for your reference. Browse through the exhibits on your own, and enjoy the history of Brown County. |

Assistance and QuestionsThe front desk is staffed at all times. It is located immediately outside the gift shop entrance as you first walk in the main entrance. The staff is available to answer any questions, and assist in the purchase of gift shop mementos. |
