History

Dedication ceremonies on the shores of Richmond Lake took place on September 29th, 1940 for the Richmond Youth Camp Lodge.

The Richmond Youth Camp and Park, a memorial to the late H. C. Behrens, who was the first years ago to foresee the lake and park possibilities of the Foote Creek Valley lying between high bluffs 10 miles northwest of Aberdeen.

Complete with a beautiful native stone lodge to house groups using the camp, the facilities have improved each year.

In 1943 the K.O. Lee Company took an interest in the Camp and donated money to be used to improve and maintain the facilities. Their donations led to three dorms being built that will house up to 108 kids. Currently the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, Church groups and other youth groups use the camp all summer.
