The Brown County 4-H Program is available to youth aged 8-18 and serves the community of Brown County. It reaches young people in urban neighborhoods, suburban school settings, and rural farming areas. Additionally, 4-H promotes a dynamic “learn by doing” approach, which has proven effective. Participants in the 4-H program tend to achieve higher grades, pursue college education, strengthen their roles within families and communities, and are less likely to engage in risky behaviors.

4-H also offers outreach initiatives in schools and within the community. The activities and values emphasized through 4-H contribute to shaping responsible citizens who will become our future community leaders. 4-H encompasses much more than just showcasing exhibits; it is about nurturing youth into critical thinkers and innovators while promoting ethics and character. Teaching essential life skills is central to the philosophy of the 4-H programs.
