2026 ELECTION DATES:

RUNOFF ELECTION DATE: July 28, 2026

Runoff Election for the South Dakota Governor race will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

Voter Registration Deadline is July 13th; people can register to vote or update their voter registration for the Runoff Election. If you are registering for the First Time, you will need to provide proof of citizenship.

At this time, In-Person Absentee is scheduled to begin on Friday, June 12, 2026 through Monday, July 27, 2026 between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. in the Brown County Courthouse Community Room. If there are any changes to this, I will post updates on our Brown County Website, Brown County Auditor's Facebook Page and send PSA's to the local Radio Stations.

If you completed an absentee ballot application for the Primary Election and we mailed you an absentee ballot - you DO NOT need to complete a new application. We will automatically mail you a ballot within 48-hours of us receiving the ballots.
