This is the BIG end-of-the-Granary-season event! Celebrate fall and see history come to life in a big way.  Fun for all ages. Re-enactors, demonstrations, folk artists, live music, kids’ activities & more!  Pie social, old fashioned Spelling Bee and special guest... Teddy Roosevelt.Come dressed in pioneer costume! Concessions and gift shop available on site.

Music & Old Time Ice Cream Social @ Granary

Music & Old Time Ice Cream Social @ the Granary! New this year, an interactive, multi-generational fun-fest sure to get you up and dancing or at least delightfully toe-tapping with the "Flying Pig Fiddle & Banjo" musical team. Homemade ice cream, lemonade, old fashioned games and music galore in an artful prairie setting. Rain or shine (indoor hall with restrooms onsite). July 16, 1-4pm. Bring a lawn chair.

"Frontier Main Street"

"Frontier Main Street" the DPM's 2017 Seasonal Children's Exhibit
Feb. 10 - Apr. 30, 2017
Learn more about the early businesses of Aberdeen's Main Street. Write a letter home at the post office, buy a parcel of land from the land agent, work at the train depot, and many more fun role-playing stations. You can even help decorate the one and only Grain Palace! Adults will enjoy reading about the first businesses in the booming frontier town and appreciate the large photos of actual businesses as they appeared at the turn of the last century.

Holiday Open House

Come to the museum for an afternoon of live music, holiday treats, family activities, and Christmas Tree Lane. Santa will visit and reside in our Education Room among trees beautifully decorated by area service groups. Free to the public.

Stitching Workshop with the Prairie Stitchers

Stitching an Ornament Workshop for Adults:
Join us in the Museum conference room to color and stitch an ornament. Workshop instruction provided the Embroidery Guild of America, South Dakota Chapter, "Prairie Stitchers".
